National Aerospace Solutions, LLC (NAS) met or surpassed all pledged goals in their small business subcontracting plan in their fifth year as the Test Operations and Sustainment contractor at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC). Small business goals are established in the NAS prime contract and performance against these goals is tracked annually to ensure collaboration with local, regional, and national members of the small business community to identify potential small business opportunities to successfully deliver products and services to support the AEDC mission. Winter Weather Update February 18 2021
The weather forecast is indicating mixed precipitation with snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Plan on slippery road conditions as the temperature drops below freezing.
NAS Base Operations is monitoring and treating the roads and parking lots and CW Resources is monitoring and treating the sidewalks at AEDC to make on-site travel safer, however you should use judgment when deciding whether or not to commute to work. Roads and other paved surfaces at AEDC and surrounding locations are at present potentially icy. AEDC and the surrounding locations are under a Winter Storm Warning from Sunday 6:00 PM CST until Tuesday 6:00 AM CST. The weather forecast is indicating heavy mixed precipitation with total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of one tenth to two tenths of an inch. In preparation for the storm, NAS Base Operations is working to treat the roads and parking lots and CW Resources is treating the sidewalks at AEDC to make on-site travel safer, however you should use judgment when deciding whether or not to commute to work. AEDC 16-foot supersonic wind tunnel restored to operational status
ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. – On Jan. 21, 2021, the multi-year efforts of many, yielded the desired results with a successful air-on test run in the Arnold Engineering Development Complex 16-foot supersonic wind tunnel, or 16S, and return to service of the test facility.
“Wind Tunnel 16S will provide the nation a significant capability to rapidly develop weapon systems critical to the National Defense Strategy,” said Lt. Col. Arnold AFB craftsman uses downtime to lift others up
ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. – Many look to spend their vacations with their toes in the sand, soaking up some rays at the beach. Others may prefer the seclusion offered by a stay in a mountain cabin. Still some may enjoy the comforts of home and choose to “staycation” during their time off.
