Focus on safety continues to bring success
ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, TENN. – The Arnold Air Force Base, NFAC and Tunnel 9 Safety Condition Campaign has thus far proven to be a success, as more than half of the items identified since the beginning of 2017 have been permanently addressed.
According to Safety, Health & Environmental Manager Richard Nugent, more than 800 issues have been identified to-date, all of which have been at least temporarily addressed and some conditions have been permanently addressed. [Read more…] about Focus on safety continues to bring success

Team members make a St. Jude donation through golf tournament
ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, TENN. – When the Lightning Classic Golf Tournament was coordinated for Aug. 4 at the Willowbrook Golf Club in Manchester, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was selected to receive the proceeds.
“This tournament was one of many that we’ve had and it involved effort from several people,” said Roy Mullins, AEDC truck driver and tournament director. “This is the first one that’s been held that benefited St. Jude. AEDC von Kármán Facility benefits from X-ray Lab team’s innovative efforts
ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, TENN. – During the recent pressure system recertification effort at the von Kármán Gas Dynamics Facility at Arnold Air Force Base, the AEDC Nondestructive Testing and X-ray Lab team members identified a crack-like flaw in a high-pressure vessel but were able to implement a technique that allowed the vessel to remain in service.
